Capstone film idea

Write about what topic for documentary if you did a film for capstone.

My capstone is about making a virtual simulator that can bring a vacation surround you through virtual monitors and devices. Instead of making a documentary, I could make an ad that could help promote my product that I am making so it can be marketed throughout YouTube or wherever this video will go. This video could include a description of my product, what it can accomplish, customer reviews based after using the product, and then prices. This could be a perfect marketing strategy for my capstone project as well.

Pros and Cons of RCHS Video- Gaming

In the video RCHS- Gaming, there were some issues. There was constantly some running music in the background while the people were talking. Also, the video wasn't entertaining enough to keep watching the video; you can lose focus easily while watching this video. However, this video did some things correctly. The cutaways were on point and the POV shots of seeing the screens that showed the editing of the games was good.

  1) What is the story arc in one sentence?
  There was a competition to see who could get the highest score in an arcade game called donkey kong, and it was mostly between Brian and Steve.

  2) What camera angles are used? Why? Mostly there were wide shots to show the surrounding environment of the players with the single machine that they all were watching. There were also mid-shots because there were a lot of interview type scenes that asked the players about their opinions on other players, the game, or the way they score in the records.

  3) What kind of cutaways and POV shots? The only POV shots i remember were whenever people would be watching over the shoulder of Steve to see him play Donkey Kong and see his techniques. The cutaways were just showing various games that were in the arcade while someone was talking or being interviewed.

  4) How does the filmmaker get us involved? The filmmaker gets us anxious to see whether or not Bill Mitchell's score could be beat by Steve who was practicing constantly every day to beat his score. He creates feelings for us whenever the movie shows disappointment in Steve's face every time he would lose. It also makes us watch the entire movie because in the end it shows that Steve finally beat Bill in the game.

Sports has been my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in elementary, playing soccer during recess was the reason I was always excited about going to school. We would all go out and play with the same teams throughout the year. These people became my family as we would always be together as friends off the field and enemies on it.

Soon I went on to junior high, drifting away from my childhood friends. I met new people at my school by playing soccer with them. Every day we would have free time in PE to do whatever we'd like and we would gather around and play indoor soccer. Soon that began to change as the new semester began and I found my favorite sport and hobby, basketball.

Beginning from the 8th grade, I have fallen in love for basketball. I stopped playing soccer and moved on to playing basketball every day. This was also the point where I actually began to enjoy watching sports as well ever since I first saw my favorite player, Lebron James play.

Anyways, from here on out, I've been in love with sports and just being outdoors. Sports have made me an active person and has improved my social skills. If there is anything that is stressing me out, I can just turn to sports (usually basketball) to get my mind off of things and bring out the positive in me once again. This makes me a better student as well because it refreshes my mind which allows me to focus on work and get my assignments done.

I am definitely a "blue" person which means I enjoy being social and around people. I also have a part orange (action-oriented) and a yellow (logical thinker) because I like getting my work done no matter what it takes to do it and think about the decisions I make clearly rather than making a dumb decision that creates problems.
