2) I love playing and watching basketball and football. I also enjoy cars and driving.
3) For now I'm not really sure but I'm leaning towards Business or Computer Science
4) Well I noticed that I am good at math and creativity and I really enjoy listening or learning about money, computers, and buying and selling things so I believe that these fields would be good for me.
5) I play basketball for fun, I'm an RCHS mentor, in the Amra Club which is a group that tries to raise money to send overseas, and I am in MSA which is the Muslim Student Association because I love my religion.
6) I volunteer regularly at events at my Mosque, I help out with Special Olympics which is a competition for mentally handicapped people. It's actually really fun working with these kids because it makes you realize how grateful these kids are even though they have these handicaps but they make it work to fit in with the world. These kids are great at sports; some even better than non-handicapped people. There was this older guy, maybe in his 30s that was in the bowling competition and it truly amazed me because this guy was one of the best bowlers I have ever seen and he even seemed to be just like the rest of the world. I have participated in the Contact Luncheon which is a teen crisis hotline, I participate in being a mentor by helping my juniors get by their first year in a college through advices and guiding them, and I am involved in Student Government Association unofficially.
7) I was born here in Dallas, TX but my family had came from Karachi, Pakistan.
Has your family coming from Pakistan given you a unique perspective that the average Texan doesn't have? You have many good volunteer experiences. Tell me what is so special about working in the special olympics? Why do you like it? Tell me a specific event that had meaning to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat does a mentor do?
You want to "get ahead of your age group" - are you naturally competitive - driven to succeed? You seem to be drawn to business - perhaps entrepreneurship? MBA? Start your own software/computer company?
What has been special about RCHS (so far) relationships in a small school environment, competition, intelligence of your fellow students, chance to participate in sports and school government?
